What would you say about Nathaniel Hawthorn's, which should fall into the category of poetic prose/short-story? I feel that poetic prose is a special case which should not be overcredited, and that most of the time prose authors simply lack the latitude or the motivation to scribe poem alike proses (in term of setting up scenes and delivering musical touches). Prose serves more practical purpose. We may tolerate hundreds of inferior ways of putting things in a lengthy novel, a half dozen of bad phrases in a prose/essay/short-story, a couple of stale words in a lyrics, but none in a good poem which no wonder dominates all the language-related arts.
